TOTALOXYGEN RUNNER DAN STUDLEY STARTS 2015 WITH A PB TIME @ ARMAGH 5K ROAD RACE
Returning to Armagh, Northern Ireland for the 5th time, it’s arguably the best road 5k in Europe, and 2015 sees one of the best fields the race has ever attracted, with 56 of the runners breaking the 15 minute barrier.
Having targeted the race as a key marker for the 2015 track season, Dan’s training has been solid and consistent, if not without the odd achilles niggle.
With a ferocious early pace, Dan saw himself outside the top 25 at the outset but soon settled down at the back of the lead group and ran confidently to finish strong, securing a fantastic 4th place and a new 27-second PB of 14:01.85, just 3 seconds behind the winner, Joe Stilin from the USA.
Sandwiched between Olympic Triathlon Medalist, Jonny Brownlee, and a European Steeplechase Medalist defines finishing in very good company by anyone’s standards.
A fantastic start to 2015, and testament to the importance of consistent training and strength, drills & core work.
